WHAT WE DO

Empowering Warriors. Restoring Purpose. Building Community.

Adaptive Boxing Corporation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to serving military service members, wounded warriors, disabled veterans, and individuals living with physical or cognitive disabilities.

Through structured, evidence-informed adaptive sports programming, we restore purpose, build physical resilience, and cultivate lifelong connection — honoring the sacrifice of those who have served our nation.

Our Mission

We believe that sport is transformative. Our mission is to provide every veteran and person with a disability — regardless of age, injury, or ability level — the opportunity to engage in competitive and recreational athletic activities through modified equipment, adapted rules, and an unwavering community of support.

“There is nothing like the power of sport. Sport makes us more — physically, mentally, and socially. Yet today, too many veterans and individuals with disabilities have limited opportunities to participate. We are here to change that.”

What We Do

Adaptive Boxing Corporation offers a comprehensive continuum of adaptive athletic programming designed to address the physical, psychological, and social dimensions of recovery and long-term wellness. Our disciplines’ cornerstone is boxing, where we have witnessed incredible transformations among our participants, fostering confidence and resilience through rigorous training and camaraderie. We are excited about the possibility of expanding our adaptive boxing programs offerings in the near future to include involvement in diverse activities in VA centers. Through these expansions, we aim to further enrich our community and support the holistic development of our veterans.

Through our ongoing support at Walter Reed Military Medical Center and the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences, we provide quarterly training for military officers and medical students — equipping future healthcare providers with the knowledge to integrate adaptive sports into patient rehabilitation and recovery.

Our Approach

We meet every participant where they are. Progress is personal. Goals are built on the principle of “just manageable difficulty” — one goal, one rep, one day at a time. 1% better every day.

Adaptive sports are intentionally designed to foster inclusion, enhance physical and mental health, and strengthen social bonds among veterans and people with disabilities. Every program we offer is built around safety, dignity, and the belief that no warrior should be left behind.

THE BAND OF WARRIORS CREED

Community is at the heart of everything we do. When veterans and adaptive athletes train together, they find more than fitness — they find brotherhood, sisterhood, accountability, and renewed purpose.
